All classes are held in STUDIO 2 , a 165 square meter movement studio. 

STUDIO 2 is located within the premises of Bethanien Kunst Quartier, an hystoric building - now cultural heritage - situated in the heart of Kreuzberg district and hosting different cultural, artistic and social institutions working in its building.

STUDIO 2 is run by the MIME CENTRUM BERLIN (part of the International Theater Institute Germany), and constitutes a vibrant space for collaboration between artists, scholars, archivists, students and dance-theatre enthusiasts.

 

MEDIA LIBRARY FOR DANCE AND THEATRe

ROAR BERLIN participants will have the possibility as well to have access to the MIME CENTRUM Media Library for Dance and Theatre. With currently 8,500 videos, the Media Library is one of the most comprehensive audiovisual documentation centres in the performing arts field.

The Media Library audiovisual archives range from cinematic documents to the dance and theatre avant-garde of the Twenties, to recordings of current dance and theatre productions. Browsing through the archive one can trace the historical developments in contemporary and classical dance, as well as text-based, music, object and movement theatre and performance art. A particularly extensive collection of records of the contemporary dance in Berlin has been collected by the Mime Centrum in Berlin from the 90s on. The Media Library is also a regular venue for events, for exchanges on issues of cultural policy, aesthetics, cultural theory and cultural history.
